The Ethics Committee for Print and Online Media of the MCM held its second quarter meeting on June 19, 2025.
On May 28, 2025, Neguun.mn livestreamed under the theme:
“There is a video of senior executives of Erdenet Mining Corporation engaging in sexual relations at the workplace. We are ready to hand over the full video to the competent authorities for investigation.”
The complainant argued that the livestream named the employee and position without basis, spreading extremely serious false information that could endanger the person’s life and damage their reputation.
After reviewing the complaint, the Ethics Committee for Print and Online Media concluded that while it may be acceptable to report misconduct by employees of a state-owned enterprise, it was inappropriate to publicly disclose the employee’s name and position without confirmation and without substantiating evidence in such a serious matter.
Accordingly, the newsroom was found to have violated Article 6 of the Media Ethics Codes.

5 – Do not manipulate information, slander, insult, or misuse professional privileges for personal purposes. Reject all forms of bribery in exchange for publishing or withholding information.
6 – Respect privacy.
