Media Council representatives joined a study tour in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Belgium to exchange experiences on cooperation and information transparency with stakeholders such as the state, civil society, and the media.
The visit lasted from March 15 to March 22 and focused on showcasing how government agencies collaborate with the media, why effective cooperation is important to strengthen public discourse, and how important it is for journalists to have information and use it properly to strengthen democracy in their countries.
The participants included representatives from the Judicial General Council, the Judicial Academy under the Supreme Court, the Judicial Disciplinary Committee, the Media Council, the Intellectual Innovation NGO, Gogo.mn website, the Hanns-Seidel Foundation and the OECD. The participants met with representatives of the Bavarian District Court and the Press Service of the Court of Munich, Bavaria, the Ministry of Justice, the Association of Journalists, the Center for New Media, the Press service of the Prosecutor General's Office and the European Policy Research Center in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium, the European foreign service, the European Parliament and the Council of Europe to learn about the judicial system of the two countries to establish a transparent and accountable judicial system, have effective communication channels between the courts, the media and the CSOs, and strengthen cooperation.
