THE MCM JOINED IN “FOR HEALTHY JOURNALISM” CAMPAIGN

Number of news websites has been increasing same as internet usage increase. In Mongolia, today more than 100 news websites operate. These websites disseminate all types of information. Among these websites, some websites disseminate fake news and breach intellectual rights.

Any organizations which operate publishing or printing activities they should clearly show their official address and open to receive complaints or suggestions from citizens.

Unfortunately, there are few websites which don’t fulfill their responsibility. In such cases, citizens or other organizations which want to contact that website are not able to reach those websites. It negatively affects to readers and other professional media organizations. Also, it makes an understanding that if newsroom doesn’t have address, this website can be unreliable source.

Therefore, in the scope of this campaign, we appeal media websites to clearly display their address.
We appeal newsrooms to write location address clearly, including post address and email, phone numbers mandatory.
