The Media Council of Mongolia organized a capacity-building training for its newly elected members on October 26, 2022. Five persons freshly elected to the MCM board and ethics committees participated in the workshop.
S.Sharavdorj, Deputy Chairman of MCM, opened the training workshop. "We regularly discuss media self-regulation, its role, and importance in our industry and society, and work to improve our operations. Your active participation as a member is essential in promoting high professional and ethical standards of media practice. Since every Ethics Committee hearing to respond to complaints brings an experience, your role and participation are important," he said, wishing success to the new members.
G.Gunjidmaa, executive director of MCM, presented on "Experience and lessons learned from media self-regulation," and D. Narantuya, an independent consultant of MCM, gave a presentation on "Ethical principles and case management."
Participants actively engaged in workshop presentations and discussions and expressed their satisfaction with the content and needs of the training.
