Media Council of Mongolia (MCM) participated in the presentation of the results of the BBC Media Action project on March 27, 2026.

BBC Media Action, the independent international development organization of the BBC, draws on more than 100 years of journalistic experience to support media development worldwide by sharing the BBC's editorial standards, culture, and professional expertise with media organizations across the globe.

Working in partnership with the Mongolian newsrooms UB LIFE, Graph.mn, and Uureg.mn, the project produced and published content highlighting authentic stories and voices of women. Participants noted that these stories have made a meaningful contribution to changing public perceptions and encouraging greater public engagement on issues affecting women.

During the event, the project's achievements were presented to Fiona Blyth, the British Ambassador to Mongolia, and Seema Malhotra, the United Kingdom's Minister for the Indo-Pacific at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Speakers emphasized that the initiative, bringing together media, public policy, and international cooperation, has made a tangible contribution to promoting women's leadership and participation.

G.Gunjidmaa, Executive Director of the Media Council of Mongolia, congratulated the participating newsrooms and expressed her appreciation for producing high-quality, evidence-based journalism that addressed underreported issues of public interest while upholding human rights and meeting professional ethical standards.

The United Kingdom also highlighted its more than two decades of experience supporting women's leadership through training, mentoring, and professional networking programs. Building on this experience, it is collaborating with the Media Council of Mongolia to strengthen the rights and participation of women politicians in both the media and the digital environment. Participants noted that these initiatives play an important role in strengthening cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region.

To further amplify women's voices and promote women's rights, the documentary productions developed by Uureg.mn, Graph.mn, and UB LIFE under their respective project themes were also presented during the event.
